Principals Notes

Well, here it is! The last day of school! There is probably no happier day for a student with the exception of graduation day. We wish our best to our graduating 8th graders. Our hope for them is that they have a successful future and remain close to the Lord. I’m sure that our seventh graders will be up to the challenge of leadership in August.

LouAnne, Marianne, and I would like to thank the parents and students who sent us such generous gifts. We hope you all have a safe and fun summer!

Registration packets for 2016-2017 school year will be in Church the first weekend in July (2nd and 3rd). Please fill out the information and return to the school office before school, at Orientation, or the first day of classes. Fast Direct will be available most of the summer (a note will be sent during transition to the new school year). Please update your parent information if there are any changes and also notify the office of any changes.

Orientation will be Wednesday, August 10th from 6-7:30 p.m. You may visit the classroom and drop off student supplies in their rooms. Homeroom teachers will contact you in early August to set up interviews. These interviews are very important for a successful start to the school year. It is a good time to address any concerns for the upcoming year.

Once again, a large number of SSPP alumni graduated with honors from Collinsville High School. SSPP alumnus, Sophie Akin, was the valedictorian. Congratulations to all of our graduates on continuing a tradition of academic excellence at SSPP.

There will be exciting changes to the grounds when you return. New drop-off and pick-up instructions will be issued for the school day while construction continues. I know that old habits are hard to break, but the changes will be necessary for the students’ safety.

Thanks to Renee and John Crowder and all of the golf workers for another successful golf tournament! We had great weather, great turnout, and continued financial success. It looks like the tournament will be on May 5th next year. No better way to start Cinco de Mayo!!!

No amount of thanks can begin to express the gratitude that the SSPP family has for Mrs. Wepking’s service for over 35 years! We will miss her and wish her all the best at St. Mary’s. I look forward to working with her in our principal group.

I will have an announcement on our new faculty member in the summer packet.

May God bless all of you with a restful and safe summer.

Kudos to : Our many volunteers. Your efforts are a big reason our school is such a great place to learn and grow.

The office is open from 9 a.m. to noon or by appointment. The office will be closed for Memorial Day and Friday of Picnic Week.

We still have openings in all grades and in our preschool. If you know of any parents seeking a great Catholic learning experience, have them give us a call.

We received word that we will not be able to offer sports physicals this year. Remember that all students have to have a current sports physical to begin practice. Students that need a school physical (K and 6th) do not need a sports physical.
