Principal’s Notes

The annual Blessing of the Pets will be Friday, October 7th at 1:40 p.m. near Morris Hall. We welcome all controllable pets-big or small. All pets should be leashed or caged. The students will come out at 1:30 and they can leave with you after the blessing. Please let the teacher know that they are going home with you.

All students who will be playing any sport at SSPP must have a current physical on file with the office. Coaches are instructed to not allow any student to practice without a physical. Coaches will be receiving copies of their players’ physicals. Students also must adhere to the school policy about grades. Please refer to the Handbook.

Don’t forget the 8th grade Soccer Night game next Friday evening 9/30 at 5:30 p.m. We will honor our 8th grade team members and parents. Students who bring a food item to school next week for the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry will receive a dress down day pass at the game. Students must attend the game to receive the pass.

I want to share some more information on the new cafeteria set-up. The lunches will cost $2.50 for a tray. There will be two tray options as well as a salad option. We are planning on continuing pizza day and we may have another special day as well. Students will order in the morning, but can add certain items in the cafeteria. You will continue to pay SSPP and we will enter your balance in Fast Direct. I will announce a start day as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.

Don’t forget that the Yankee Candle Fundraiser is due next Friday (9/30). The auction is fast approaching. Don’t forget your donations.

KUDOS to: our soccer coaches for another great year.

PICTURE DAY
Don’t forget that next Thursday is school pictures. Please read the picture day dress code in the handbook.

BOOK FAIR
Some of you have asked about a Book Fair this year. Due to the absence of an accessible site, we will not have a fall book fair. If the new construction is completed on time, we will try to schedule one in the spring.

LIFE CHAIN WEEKEND
The weekend of Oct. 1st and 2nd is a busy one here at SSPP. There is the Cardboard City for our Jr. High Youth Group. The Life Chain and Chicken/Roast Pork Dinner is on Sunday. Make plans now to support these events. We do require students from K-5th grade be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
