I would like to ask all of our school family to pray for the quick recovery of Renee Crowder, our school board president and mother of Joey and Jimmy. Renee had to be taken to the hospital while attending the 7th grade trip to Springfield. As of this writing they continue to do tests to determine the cause. Special thanks to parents, Lisa Schrage and Jason Ramert, who expertly expedited her trip to the hospital and provided expert care while waiting for 911.
Our school and parish community looks forward to a wonderful First Communion Sunday with our second graders. I want to thank Mrs. Bozzardi for her hard work in preparing our students for their special day.
I would like to remind you that all financial obligations need to be met before you can receive the final report cards. That includes tuition, library fines, lunch, etc. Permanent records will not be transferred until any obligations are met.
I would once again like to thank all of you who have worked so hard to increase our fundraising this year. A statement letter will be sent home early next week. Anyone who has met their goal as of April 30th may begin to fundraise for next year immediately. If you have not met your goal, you have until May 15th to add to your total.
Don’t forget that next Tuesday evening is our annual Fine Arts Festival. The program begins at 6:30pm. The always amazing art exhibit will be set up in the cafeteria. Unfortunately, we will be unable to host the Spring Book Fair due to a lack of suitable space.
Please help spread the word about our Preschool and Summer Latchkey. We have a great program at a great price.
Two weeks to go to the SSPP Golf Tourney at Stonewolf Golf Course. We are shooting for a full tournament. It is our second largest school fundraiser.
Kudos To
SSPP alumnus, Jeremy Erickson, who was awarded the SLU Vice Presidents’ Scholarship and was accepted into their prestigious Pre-Law Program. Congratulations!
Our track team. They have been setting school records right and left. Good luck at next week’s Conference Meet!

Summer Latchkey
I want to remind you to return the summer latchkey form as soon as possible. I want to make sure that I have enough staff and materials for the summer. Remember that Totus Tuus and the cooking classes are included in your fees.
Mrs. Wepking Farewell
I invite all of you to a farewell reception for Mrs. Diane Wepking after the
10:30 a.m. Mass on May 15th. As previously announced Diane will be the new principal at St. Mary’s in Edwardsville. This is your chance to stop by and wish her good luck in her new calling and thank her for over 35 years of service to SSPP.
Student Teachers
I neglected to mention that our two student teachers, Kayla Cuthbert and Amanda Ley, will finish their practicums today. We have been blessed with their presence. It is a great honor, and a rare one, to host student teachers from public universities. It is a reflection on our curriculum and staff that we are able to do this. I would like to wish them the best of luck in their education future.
Construction Update
The asbestos abatement will be completed tomorrow. We will return to normal dismissal on Monday. Demolition of the building is scheduled to begin on May 19th.
