**This edition is very long. Please read the entire message.**
Our eighth graders will attend their last day here at SSPP next Wednesday. Our school has been blessed with this fine group of young men and women. I’m confident that they will represent our school well in the future. We extend our best wishes and blessings to them for an outstanding future.
We are especially proud of our graduates who have chosen to continue their Catholic education at the secondary level. Quinton Ball, Jack Barnish, Hannah Goodwin, Macy Hoppes, Katie Jackson, Mariah Juarez, Jonah Mitan, Dakota Shaver, Madison Webb and Preston Weise have been accepted at Fr. McGivney Catholic. Derrick Mark has been accepted at Althoff. Nick Koenig has been accepted at SLUH. The acceptance process at Catholic high schools can be rigorous. The time to begin preparing is when the students are in the upper grades. The schools look for academic, leadership, participation skills, as well as a strong faith life.
The Student Council will treat the teachers to a luncheon tomorrow for National Teachers Week. Our STUCO members have done a fantastic job at promoting school spirit this year. Thanks to Ms. Christian and Mrs. Kiefner for helping the students.
Our annual Golf Tournament is just a week away. We could still use some volunteers. Please message Renee Crowder or Maggie Grotefendt if you can help. We still have spots open for teams as well.
I would like to remind you that, although the doors may be open, students should not be dropped off at school until 7:30. Students can be dropped off at the latchkey area for no fee starting at 7:15.
Don’t forget that the SSPP Picnic has been moved to June 24th and 25th. I would like to encourage all of our school families to get involved, if possible. Remember that the parish gives each family a monetary subsidy to cover the cost to educate our students. The Hornet Hustle will be on the 25th.
All school fees, especially lunch, must be current as we approach the last days of this school year. Students who have a negative lunch balance will make a reminder call starting Monday. If you are unsure of any fees, please contact Vickie in the finance office.
The annual Fine Arts Festival was again a rousing success. Special thanks to our Fine Arts Department- Mrs. Popovchak-Erickson, Mrs. Campbell, and Mr. Sladek- for their hard work and dedication. Our band and the students did an outstanding job in providing the entertainment and the great art projects. Art and music education remain integral components in educating the whole student.
For those of you who have asked about the Spring Book Fair, we had to cancel due to space limitations. We need a first floor area and none are currently available. We hope to have a space next fall.

**We received word that we will not be able to offer sports physicals this year. Remember that all students have to have a current sports physical to begin practice. Students that need a school physical (K and 6th) do not need a sports physical.**
Kudos To
Thanks to the 4th Degree Knights who presented us with a check for $200 from our breakfast. The money was designated for our technology fund.
Congratulations to our 2nd graders who made their First Holy Communion last Sunday. Thank you to Mrs. Bozzardi for all her preparations.
Danielle Bozzardi & Stephanie Dankenbring, SSPP alumni, who were the dance camp instructors. They have done this for a number of years and we are grateful that they return to give of their time for this event. Thanks also to Mrs. Bozzardi for sponsoring the activity.
Summer Office Hours
The school office will begin summer hours on May 19th. The office will be closed on June 24th and July 29th. Some days may be added later. If you have a question, call and leave a message (344-5450×201) or send a Fast Direct to LouAnne. The office will be open from 9:00 am to noon. Call 344-5450 for an appointment at any other time.
Summer Latchkey
We still have spaces available in the summer latchkey program. We will be offering different activities each day. Christine Rukavina has created an activities schedule for the summer. Our goal this summer is to create a program so that the students have organized activities and not just babysitting. Call the office to enroll.
