This is the final Principal’s Notes before Christmas.
It is hard to believe that the first semester has almost come and gone. If there are no glitches, the second quarter grades will be available to view on Wednesday. I hope that doesn’t result in lumps of coal for any of our students.
Don’t forget that student attendance at Mass over Christmas is an integral component of the religion curriculum and our Catholic faith. Masses will be Christmas Eve at 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm; 8:00 am and 10:30 am on Christmas Day. January 1st is a Holy Day, but falls on a Sunday. There is Mass on New Year’s Eve at 4:30 pm and at 8:00 am and 10:30 am on New Year’s Day.
LouAnne, Marianne, and I would like to thank the parents and students who sent us such generous gifts.
Our students have prepared a Journey to Bethlehem activity for Wednesday, December 21st from 9:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The lower floor students will be travelling from class to class experiencing the times of Jesus. You are welcome to attend. Please sign in at the office first. **We are looking for props for this event. We are specifically looking for plastic swords, Roman centurion helmets and old bathrobes for costumes. Please send into the office before Tuesday. Thanks.**
On behalf of the faculty and staff of Ss. Peter and Paul school, I want to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed and Happy New Year! See you in 2017.
Kudos to: Our wonderful room parents for planning the Christmas parties.
To all who generously gave to our Capital Campaign project and to
Fr. John’s and Deacon Jimmy’s gift. God bless you all!
HOLIDAY SCRIP SALES/OFFICE HOURS
The school office will be open for last minute Scrip and Nut sales at the following times: Thursday, 12/22 – 9 a.m. to noon, Friday, 12/23 – 9 a.m. to noon
The school office will be open December 27-30 and January 3-4 from 9 a.m. to noon. Call the school office if you have any questions.
CHROMEBOOKS
All of the Chromebooks used by the 6-8th graders will be updated over the holidays. We did a preliminary inspection recently. We are quite pleased in the condition of the Chromebooks. If we found that your child’s device had damage, inappropriate sites, or violations of the agreement, you will receive a notice in the mail. Overall, our students did very well with the Chromebooks this first semester. The Chromebooks will be redistributed on January 5th. Any outstanding repair bills must be paid before the Chromebook can be taken out of the school building next semester.
FAST DIRECT
I want to remind you that only parents or custodial guardians should have access to your Fast Direct account. Your students should NOT have access, since we send sensitive material home via that portal. The students in grades 5-8 have their own student account. The 4th graders will receive theirs after Christmas.
ALTAR SERVERS
We are happy to have 14 fourth graders signed up for serving. This is an important liturgical ministry and one that should not be taken lightly. Angie Auer in the parish office schedules the servers and the servers should keep their assignments. If you cannot make the weekend Mass, you should get a substitute. We expect servers to be available for the weekend. Students who fail to show up without getting a substitute will not be considered for school week, funerals, or wedding serving. If you notice that Father is short servers, please go up and volunteer. If you attend a specific weekend Mass, please let Angie know. She is on Fast Direct.
