Principal’s Notes
Please keep in mind our SCRIP program for your holiday shopping. I know from personal experience that gift cards beat standing in line for Christmas shopping. The quicker that you return the form, the quicker we can get it ordered for you. Our Scrip sales have been in steady decline. Please take a look at the merchants.
Although the weather is fantastic now, the snows will blow soon. I have sent School Reach phone messages already this school year. If you did not get a call, please contact the office to verify your phone numbers. If you change any previous phone numbers, you must notify the office as well as change them on Fast Direct.
The Advent season is fast approaching. That is the start of the Church calendar year. Now is the time to renew your commitment to the faith. If you don’t attend Sunday Mass, resolve to take your child(ren) every week. The students are very candid about their Mass attendance. We need your help in teaching the tenets of our Catholic faith to your children.
Last Saturday night was our annual auction. I want to extend special thanks to Renee Crowder, Stacy Deadmond, and the 3rd and 4th grade class chairs. Thanks also to the many parents, students, and friends who helped make this such a successful event. It was truly a whole school effort. Preliminary numbers indicate that the profit will exceed $94,000. That is a fantastic result for all of the hard work. Not only is the auction the biggest school fundraiser; it is the largest parish fundraiser.
The Raise Your Paddle total was very exciting. We raised $23,000 and our donor has already given us the $20,000 matching amount. I am hopeful to be able to purchase our STEM items for use next semester. We are also finalizing the pricing on the Chromebooks with plans to purchase them before prices go up. If the price is right, I hope to have grades 6-8 in Chromebooks next year.
For those who attended, your invoices and statements will be mailed next week.
Our next two school fundraisers are the Winter Trivia Night in February and the Annual Golf Scramble in May.
Kudos To
SSPP graduates Kate and Emma McAtee who were part of the Missouri State Champion Cross Country team from Nerinx Hall. Their team is running in the national regionals in Terra Haute, In. this weekend.
Thanks to our 8th graders who worked last Saturday at the auction.
All who purchased Market Day pies.
Note
I will be attending the Diocesan Adult Enrichment Conference in Decatur on Monday. I will be part of the diocesan accreditation team visiting St. Paul, Highland on Weds. I will be out of the office on both days.
