Let’s Warm-Up Winter! Many among us in our parish and surrounding community need blankets to keep warm. Yes, here. Right here! During the next two weeks of Lent, Ss. Peter & Paul School will hold a blanket drive asking each family to donate a blanket. Blankets can be throws, baby, any bed size – even gently used but clean ones are welcomed. Bring your blankets to school for our Winter Warm Up through Friday, March 9. Thank you, SSPP Youth Group , for supervising the collection.
Preschool Open House & Registration Sunday, March 4 from 2-4 pm in Manning Hall.
Preschool Parents are invited to meet the teachers, tour the Preschool, meet other Parents (Ambassadors) and have adult conversations while their children play with our 7th & 8th grade Student Ambassadors in the absorbing and fun preschool classroom. Spread the word about our Preschool Open House. Let’s fill those rooms with the joy of children.
Empower Illinois Scholarship Application Opens Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 7:00 p.m.
The new application will be available through the Empower Illinois website. It will be a two-step process.
1. Reserve: On Feb. 27 at 7:00 p.m. families will complete a brief online form containing name and contact information, child name and preferred school. This will time stamp your application for the first-come, first-served scholarships.
2. Apply: After reserving your place in line, families will be emailed a unique link and use their reservation code to complete the application. Applications will be sent on a rolling basis, over the course of a few weeks. After receiving the application email, families will have 3 days to complete the application and submit all required documents.
This two-step process is to make it easier for families and provide more time to ensure your application is accurate and complete. The reservation system will be accessible from mobile devices as well. Once you get your application link, please use a computer to submit the required documents and finish the application accurately, without rushing. If a student has already received a scholarship award letter, they do not need to reserve or apply. However, all other students should reserve and apply through this system beginning Feb. 27, regardless of how far you may have gotten through our old application.
On Tuesday, February 20 our 5th grade celebrated their 1000th day of school with great STREAM activities. That’s a lot of school time – but look what you have achieved.
Our State & Diocesan Review and Recognition this week was a success. Thank you to Faculty, Staff and Students for putting your best feet forward!

Field Trips are coming soon! All chaperones, coaches, volunteers must complete the Protecting God’s Children program to participate. This program will be presented here at Ss. Peter and Paul on Tuesday, March 13 at 6:30 pm and on Saturday, March 17 at 8:30 am in Morris Hall. You only need to attend this program one time.
Fellowship Hosts: Calling Second and Third grade parents! We invite each grade level to “Host” one weekend a month each year. It only takes two or three parents (children can help too!) to give a few minutes for set up before Mass and about 20-30 minutes after Mass. Liz Dalton will fill you in with details. Please call the school office and we will walk you through the details.
