Principal’s Pen – October 6, 2017

Blessing of the Animals this afternoon was beautiful. It was fun to see our ‘other’ family members join together for a celebration of God’s gifts to us. Thank you to Fr. John, Deacon Jim, Deacon Jimmy , Kimberly Zagorski and St. Francis himself (Devon Silhavy) who joined us for the blessing.

Parents may begin to schedule Parent/Teacher Conferences online. Instructions for sign-up were sent this week through Fast Direct. Please notify the office if you have any difficulty with this system.

Let It Go Yard Sale is in need of children’s clothing, shoes, coats, etc. Donations of children’s items may be dropped in the Church Gathering Space this Saturday and Sunday at all Masses in kitchen size garbage bags or bring them to school on Tuesday, October 10. Donations will support our Yard Sale on October 14 for those in need in our area.

Each morning we have a Dress Code Check and we are finding more students are NOT wearing dress code socks. Socks are part of the dress code and students will receive a check and have to wear the dreaded ‘school socks’ if they persist being out of dress code.

Safety First – Several families have taken to dropping tardy students off at the Morrison Street doors and having students cross the street to the school entrance. The safest route if you are tardy past 8:10 is to park in the church lot and walk/watch your child enter the Morrison St. doors. Before 8:10 tardy students can be dropped at the Johnson Street doors. Even with the sign and lights flashing, cars do not always stop for anyone in the crosswalk.

Blessings to all for a long weekend. Enjoy the beauty of this wonderful season.

Interim Principal
