Principal’s Pen January 18, 2019

Dear Parents,
Winter is arriving again for us. I am very grateful that it comes on the weekends. This allows the students and dogs to have fun in the snow.

Eighth Graders at the Pro-Life March

Catholic Schools Week:
Last week I sent you a day-by-day listing of events. If you are able, you are more than welcome to come and observe!!

I wanted to give you information for the dress code for these days.

Monday: Uniform dress but students may wear crazy socks.
Tuesday: Students may wear a “Blues” shirt or a blue shirt with uniform pants.
Wednesday: Pre-School – Grade 3 may wear PJ’s and slippers. Grades 4 – 8 may wear sweat pants and a sweat shirt, and slippers. Students must wear regular shoes in the morning and they must wear their shoes for lunch and P.E. class and dismissal. They may bring a pillow and a blanket.
Thursday: Students need to wear a different colored shirt with jeans.
Pre-School – the green SSPP shirt Fourth Grade – pink
Kindergarten – yellow Fifth Grade – black
First Grade – blue Sixth Grade – orange
Second Grade – purple Seventh Grade – white
Third Grade – red Eighth Grade – green

Friday: Fancy Day – Students should dress up in their best.

Dismissal/Pick–up/Parking Lot: Most that I have talked with say they like the new way at dismissal. However, when I cannot get out there early, it seems to be a problem. We need FOUR rows of cars, not every day but most days. I see some cars parking on the street or in the Pre-School (Manning Hall) parking lot. For the student’s safety, they are NOT to walk across the street without an adult. Traffic gets congested especially when the buses are trying to leave. If you wish to, please park in the parking lot, and then walk over to the Johnson Street doors to pick up your student.

Current School Needs:
Popcorn Tin Cans –
Looking for a few large popcorn tins to hold the rock salt at the entry ways.
Clean Gallon Milk Jugs – for Penny Wars collection.

I just wanted you to know, we have the most respectful, kind, and thoughtful students here at Ss Peter and Paul Catholic School. It is such a pleasure to be with them each day. I wish you all could experience the prayerful and beautifully sung Masses that we have on Tuesday and Fridays. It is wonderful!

Wishing you a safe (but fun!) weekend with the snow.

Blessing to you and your family,
Miss Kirk
