Principal’s Report

Our SIU-E Jr. Olympiad teams recently competed against 40 other teams in a day-long
contest that challenges the students to use creativity and critical thinking skills to complete three separate projects. Congratulations to all three teams and their sponsor, Mrs. Phetsadasack for their outstanding work.

The registration process continues. I am pleased to report that we have had a number of new families tour our school as well as register for next year. In an effort to increase our enrollment, I am offering each current family a $100 tuition credit if you refer a new family and they enroll in our PK-8th grade for next year. If you haven’t sent your registration into the office yet, please do so. If you are not returning for any reason, please let us know that as well.

The third quarter has ended and report cards have been posted. If you have trouble
viewing them, please contact the office. I would also like to remind you that all financial accounts should be current. This time of year can be hectic and the end of the school year will be here before you know it. Remember that your fundraising goal should be met by April 30th.

Our seventh graders will perform the Living Stations of the Cross tomorrow starting at
1:40 p.m. They did the stations last evening for the parish. The 7th grade always does a
powerful portrayal of Jesus’ last steps to Calvary. You are welcome to join us. We will be posting pictures to the website soon.

The Collinsville Street Department has been working on our crosswalk. It looks to be a
solar-powered flashing light that will be activated by pushing a button. One side is up as of this
morning.

I will send a 2016-2017 school calendar following the next board meeting on April 12th. If you need to know a specific start and end date for vacation purposes, please contact me.

Kudos To
Our band students who participated in the IL Grade School District Solo and Ensemble contest last weekend. Out of twenty events, 3 earned first superior rating, 16 earned first rating and 1 earned second rating. All of the students will be listed in tomorrow’s Backpack News.
