Protecting God’s Children (PGC) Classes:
ANY parent/guardian who may coach, want to be a field trip chaperone, classroom helper (room parent), playground supervisor or lunch helper MUST complete the Protecting God’s Children program plus have a Background Check processed. This is in accordance with the Safe Environment policy of the Springfield Diocese. We may be contacting you to resubmit a background check as they are good for only 5 years. .

AUCTION NEWS:
Preparations for this year’s school auction are happening now. Please save the date for this fun event: November 5, 2016!! Official save the dates are in this week’s Friday folders (oldest/only)!

All contributions are much appreciated, including those from businesses you frequent, employers, family members, neighbors, etc. Business ads for the printed program are also available for purchase. In this week’s Friday folder, please find a copy of the auction letter & donation form that can be used for the purpose of gathering donations.

If you have not already been contacted, you will soon receive a message from your classroom’s basket coordinator regarding your class basket. Each grade will prepare a themed basket for the auction. Please watch for this message and remember to lend your support.

We are trying something new and will have a whiskey & wine pull this year! Please feel free to start contributing to this now! We are collecting varieties of whiskey and wine or monetary donations to go towards this! More updates will follow…please stay tuned…thank you!

Fr. John’s Birthday
Fr. John will celebrate his birthday on Sept. 11th. I will be collecting student donations for a gift for him from the students. You can send the money in an envelope marked Fr. John to the office.

Help for AR Store
The AR (Accelerated Reader) Store is in need of 20-30 new or like new stuffed animals to keep the costs down of the AR store. Any surplus of stuffed animals the AR store will donate to the Let it go Weekend. Please turn in your stuffed animals to the office on or before Sept 15th. Thanks!

SCRIP: The school office carries a variety of scrip cards and can order almost anything. Go to www.glscrip.com or www.shopwithscrip.com for the complete list. The school receives different percentages back on each card purchased. If you know you’ll be shopping at a specific store (ie shopnsave, etc) or dining at a specific restaurant (ie olive garden, etc), or paying your store charge (ie kohl’s, etc), please think about purchasing them from school. Thanks for your support!

SCHNUCKS E-SCRIP CARD: If you don’t have one, contact the school office and we will get one to you. You only have to have them scan it at the time of your checkout – That’s it! Pretty easy, isn’t it?
