Principal’s Notes

WE GIVE THANKS TO GOD FOR ALL OF THE BLESSINGS BESTOWED UPON US!

There will be no Backpack News or Principal’s Notes next week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Please make sure to read this entire message.

Please keep in mind our SCRIP program for your holiday shopping. I know from personal experience that gift cards beat standing in line for Christmas shopping. The quicker that you return the form, the quicker we can get it ordered for you.

The Advent season begins next weekend (Nov. 28-29). Advent is the start of the Church calendar year and important preparation for Christmas.

One last call for any phone number changes for School Reach. If you have not been receiving School Reach phone messages, please contact the office. This is the official school notification when school will close for weather. I will try to get school closures on Channels 2, 4, and 5, as well as on Fast Direct. Our virtual lessons will be posted on Fast Direct for now.

The school office will be open on Wednesday, Nov 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. LouAnne has a school appointment at 1 p.m. to begin an update with School Reach. You can leave a voicemail. The office will be closed on Thanksgiving through Sunday.

The annual Christmas program will be Tuesday, December 1st at 6:30pm.

Kudos: All of our Auction workers and supporters.

ADVENT PROJECT
We will sponsor two non-uniform down days; one on December 7th and the other on December 14th. The students may have a non-uniform day for a donation to our Advent project. Our Advent project provides Christmas scrip cards for families that could use a little extra help to have an enjoyable Christmas season.

FR. JOHN
We will also begin collecting for a Christmas gift for Fr. John. You can send it to the office in a marked envelope. The deadline is December 15th.

AUCTION REPORT
We are happy to report that this year’s auction was a success. So far, we have a net profit over $75,000. These funds will benefit the school in so many ways. We want to thank everyone who participated in any way, especially those who attended the auction event. It was great to see so many people enjoying themselves and we are thrilled that everyone had a great time.
Party Central signup sheets will be coming home tomorrow in the Friday Folders. There are still spots available for a variety of fun activities, including the popular Dress Down Day passes. Invoices and receipts from the auction will be sent home soon.

DRESS CODE
Please review the school dress code as we move toward colder weather. Just a reminder that students may not wear leggings, jeggings, or tights by themselves, even during dress down days. Students should come to school with some kind of outerwear, as we attempt to have outside recess every day. Students are to remove outerwear in the classroom and church.

MORNING DROP-OFF
The school opens at 7:30 a.m. Students should not be dropped off more than a couple of minutes early to ensure proper supervision. I can offer latchkey from 7:15 to 7:30 at no charge, but you have to contact the office.
