Principal’s Notes

Registration is nearly complete. I want to thank all who have chosen a “faith first” education for your children. It is a tribute to you to sacrifice during these economic times to send your children to SSPP. We will continue to contact you as a reminder if you have not registered. If you are uncertain or are not returning, please message me.

I will be out of the office next Thursday and Friday to attend the Diocesan Principals Leadership Conference in Springfield.

A preliminary school calendar will be sent next week with the Backpack News. There will be a longer Easter break next year so that the faculty can attend the NCEA convention in St. Louis.

Don’t forget that the SSPP Picnic has been moved to June 24-25. Also Totus Tuus has been scheduled for July 11-15.

The asbestos abatement has caused minimal disruption to the school day. It is scheduled to be completed by April 22nd. We are moving the recycling bins and the picnic trailers to open up more parking spaces in anticipation of the construction that will start on May 19th.

I was recently contacted by the SIU-E student teacher dean. He was extremely complimentary of our school, its curriculum, and our staff. We have the unprecedented privilege of hosting two student teachers from a public university. They were so happy that we may be hosting another student teacher next year.

Kudos To
All of our field trip and activity chaperones. We are fast approaching that time of the school year.
