Principal’s Pen – February 16, 2018

Preschool Open House & Registration Sunday, March 4 from 2-4 pm in Manning Hall.
Thank you, Parent Ambassadors, for responding to the invitation. You will be the welcoming piece that our new parents need in order to know that Ss. Peter & Paul Preschool is the best place for their child. Spread the word about the Preschool Open House in two short weeks. Let’s fill those rooms with the joy of children.
Preschool Parents are invited to meet the teachers, tour the Preschool, meet other Parents (Ambassadors) and have adult conversations while their children play with our 7th & 8th grade Student Ambassadors in the absorbing and fun preschool classroom.

Wednesday, February 21, teams from Madison County Regional Office of Education and the Diocese of Springfield will be at school for State Recogniton. We welcome them to our school!

A Repeat Reminder: DROP OFF CAUTION: PLEASE STOP at STOP SIGNS
The Morrison Street + Johnson Street crosswalk is a high traffic, frantic area every morning. Vehicles are coming from all directions. We have had some narrow escapes lately and need to be careful of each other. Stop-do not just slow down-use turn signals-stay in your lanes – future drivers are watching and we need EVERYONE to be safe!

Field Trip are coming soon! All chaperones, coaches, volunteers must complete the Protecting God’s Children program to participate. This program will be presented here at Ss. Peter and Paul on Tuesday, March 13 at 6:30 pm and on Saturday, March 17 at 8:30 am in Morris Hall. You only need to attend this program one time.

The Quarterly Sex Offender List has been received from Lt. Halbrooks, Madison Co. Sheriff’s Office. If you would like the list forwarded to you, please contact the school office.

The Illinois State Tax Scholarship website, empowerillinois.org, is on overload and shut down until they can accommodate the volume of applications. We will forward information when the site re-opens. Have your documents ready. Call the school office or parish business office if you have any questions.

Fellowship Hosts: Calling Second and Third grade parents! Thank you for those who have alrady volunteered as hosts after weekend Masses. We are hoping each grade level can “Host” one month a year. It only takes two or three parents (children can help too!) to give a few minutes for set up before Mass and about 20-30 minutes after Mass. Liz Dalton will fill you in with details. Please call the school office and we will walk you through the details.

Attached is a letter from Bishop Poprocki regarding donations for the Seminaries.

Enjoy some great family time over this 3 day weekend!

Blessings,

Peg Bodinet
