Principal’s Pen – March 23, 2018

Thank you to our 7th grade students for their beautiful portrayal of the Stations of the Cross. We are blessed with your dedication to our faith and grateful to you for sharing your gifts with us during Lent.

Please keep our 8th graders and their families and Mrs. Martin in our prayers this weekend as they travel on their class trip to Chicago.

Return your Lenten Rice Bowls at any of the weekend Masses this Palm Sunday weekend.

The Triduum begins with Holy Thursday Mass of the lOrd’s Supper at 7 pm. Good Friday service is at 3 pm and Holy Saturday/ Easter Vigil is at 8 pm. Easter Sunday Masses will be 8 am and 10:30 am.

Registration is in full swing for the 2018-2019 school year! Our numbers are increasing and classrooms are filling up! Register online or by paper copy. Please call the school office with any questions. We are here to help you!

Honor Roll Mass- Father John has asked us to ‘go viral’ with our fantastic Honor Roll news by celebrating our students at a weekend Mass. Third Quarter Honor Roll Mass will be Sunday, April 8 after the 10:30 Mass. Fourth Quarter Honor Roll Mass will be Sunday, May 27 after the 10:30 Mass. (Note corrected date from previous FD message)

Parents & Friends: Ss. Peter & Paul School Council has been working to restructure their focus this year incorporating the MAT initiatives and other ideas brought out in the recent January meeting. One major shift is to re-create a Parents & Friends group inviting ALL of our Parents (& Friends) to build a stronger school community through social, spiritual and fundraising activities. The School Council (formerly School Board) will continue to focus on Policy, Faith Formation, Academics and Communication. Plan to attend the Parents Friend Formation Meeting on Tuesday, April 10 from 6:30 – 7:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Be a part of history in the making! And bring home a Dress Down Pass for your children for Wednesday, April 11.

Glo-Bingo is Friday, April 13, 2018 in the Gym. Plan on attending this crazy, fun evening! Each fundraiser helps to keep our tuition costs from increasing. Bring your friends! Join us!

The Faculty and Staff are excited to invite you and your family to our Family Reading Night and Book Fair on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 6:30 – 8 pm. Help is needed to staff the Book Fair so all of you shoppers out there – we need your expertise! Contact Mrs. Bodinet if you can share an hour or two to set up and man the Book Fair that evening or on Monday during the school day.

Golf Outing 2018 is scheduled for Friday, May 11! Mark your calendar – Gather your foursome- Sign up for a day of fun and support for our School!

1. Go: Empowerillinois.com to complete a brief online form to time stamp your application for the first-come, first-served scholarships.
2. Apply: After reserving your place in line, families will be emailed a unique link and use their reservation code to complete the application. Applications will be sent on a rolling basis, over the course of a few weeks. After receiving the application email, families will have 7 days to complete the application and submit all required documents.
