Tomorrow is the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision. There will be special readings at Mass. The upper grades will be observing a day of silence for reflection and prayer. The students will have the opportunity to have a dress down day for a donation of $1. We will use the money for the annual Right to Life ad that is sponsored by the parish. Your family will have the opportunity to participate in the ad by filling out the forms that will become available at the weekend masses.
I hope that you received your school closing message last Wednesday. If you did not, please contact LouAnne. The numbers were imported from Fast Direct and some phone numbers had not been updated. For future reference, I will send the message immediately if the decision is made the evening before the snow day. If the decision is made in the early morning as was the case yesterday, I will send the message between 5:45 and 6 a.m.
I want to remind you that if Unit 10 closes for extreme cold, we may not close. The temperature has to be forecast for minus 25 degrees wind chill for us to close. The latchkey and preschool are also closed whenever school is closed.
Financial statements will be coming home in the Friday folder. Parish donation statements are available through the parish office (Leslie Duff).
Please remember in your prayers Eleanor Columbara who passed away last week. Her Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated here last Tuesday. Mrs. Columbara was a teacher here at SSPP for 48 years. I know that many of you had her for a teacher. Our 2nd grade class, who learn in the class room dedicated to her memory, represented the hundreds of students that she taught. Thank you to them for performing that corporal work of mercy in this Year of Mercy.
Kudos To
